Size & Design.
When it comes to design, 10.9 inches iPad Air and 11 inches iPad Pro looks very similar with the flat edges just like iPhone 12. They contain a camera bump present at the back and also an edge to edge display that has no home button.

Display.
In comparison with the 11 inches iPad Pro, the iPad Air is a bit smaller than the 11 inch model. Bezels around the display of the 11 inch iPad Pro are a bit thicker. But this is not really a huge difference.but if you hold both of these devices side by side, only then it is noticeable.
Otherwise, the display quality of these tablets are quite similar. But it also has one exception that is noticeable; iPad Pro supports 120Hz promotion refresh rates, which makes it’s scrolling really smooth and also gives a better overall experience.
Both the iPad Pro and iPad Air support the Apple pencil. It is worth noting that sketching and writing is very smooth in the ProMotion display.
Authentication.
iPad Air, as always has a touch ID for recognition but the iPad Pro equipped true depth camera that can work with the face ID by facial recognition.
There is a Touch ID built into the power button at the top of the device because there is no Touch ID home button. It is very effortless and fast, but the only thing you have to do is to reach at the top for unlocking it. It is not very seamless with experience as the Face ID, especially if you operate with accessories like a magic keyboard.
On the other hand, in iPad Pro, you can wake it up with the help of a keyboard and then unlock it instantly after scanning your face. But on the iPad air, you have a two step process.
Camera.
The iPad Air has no LiDAR Scanner and single lens wide angle rear camera. While, there is a dual lens camera with ultra wide angle and wide angle lens option in iPad Pro. It also contains a LiDAR scanner for enhancing your AR capabilities.
This should not be a big deal if you don’t use your iPad for taking pictures. It is same for this, who are not into different augmented reality apps. Both iPad Air vs iPad Pro have a front facing 7 megapixel camera, but the thing is, there is also a TrueDepth Camera option too in iPad Pro.
Speakers.
Like iPad Pro, iPad Air has four speaker cutouts, but there are actually only two stereo speakers instead of four stereo speakers. But, there is a definite difference in the sound, the iPad Pro comes out ahead.
A14 vs. A12Z
As you know that there is an A14 chip in the iPhone 12, just like this there are also A14 chips in the iPad Air too. While, there is an older chip in the older A12Z chip in the iPad Pro.

Storage and Pricing.
The 11 inch iPad Pro starts at $799 and has 128GB of storage. The 10.9 inch iPad Air starts at $599 and has 64GB of storage.
The 256GB model costs $749 and there is no 128GB ipad Air available.
The 11 inch iPad Pro that is 256GB is $899. It also upgrades into the larger 12.9 inch screen . it is also very expensive with the model that starts at $ 999.
In comparison with iPad Pro, iPad Air is much more affordable but the condition is, you have to work with the 64GB storage.
Many people choose iPad Air over the iPad Pro. It contains an A14 chip and it also offers many of the same features. It also has a touch ID for the touch ID fans. But, when it comes to the display, it actually lacks because it does not have the ProMotion, but it is ver faster, adorable and available in many better colors and all of them gives it an edge over the iPad Pro at that moment.
The iPad Pro still wins out because of its camera features, LiDAR scanner and ProMotion Display.
